Preliminary Knowledge: | Theoretical knowledge mastered within the programme | ||||||||
Objective: | To deepen and strengthen the knowledge acquired in the professional Master's study programme “Economic Security” at Rīga Stradiņš University, as well as to develop and improve professional skills by promoting a comprehensive understanding of an organisation and its activities in the field of economic security. | ||||||||
Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | To get acquainted thoroughly with the placement programme and its requirements, to follow the recommendations of the placement supervisor and managers (officials) of the placement institution; to fulfil placement assignments dutifully; to strictly observe work discipline and internal rules of practice in the placement institution; not to disclose information that is not subject to disclosure by law (limited availability, restricted, etc.). The course of the placement needs to be reflected in the placement diary, where it is necessary to record the most important activities that have been carried out on a weekly basis. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | To attach to the placement report documents that reflect the cognitive process, placement diary, and the placement self-assessment. The results of the placement must be summarised in the placement report that has to be submitted to the faculty within 2 weeks after the end of the placement. Opinion and assessment by the placement supervisor. In accordance with RSU Academic Regulations (I). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Knowledge about: 1. understanding of the activities of the organisation and the law governing it, how the legislation is drafted and applied in the specific field of professional activity and taking into account the specifics of the field concerned; 2. legal problems related to daily operations of the organisation and the possibilities of solving them; 3. the case law and scientific considerations about the selected area; 4. developments of organisation’s activities in the field of economic security; 5. the specifics of organisational management. | ||||||||
Skills: | 1. to independently prepare draft legal acts and other legal documents relevant to the specifics (functions) of the organisation; 2. to determine the persons involved in the particular situation, the rights, duties and responsibilities of those persons; 3. to solve the practical tasks of a moderate and higher degree of difficulty; 4. to take responsibility and to express an initiative in the performance of the placement tasks. | ||||||||
Competencies: | 1. independently formulates and analyses legal problems, justifies opinions and decisions, analyses the effectiveness of the organisation’s activities and management; 2. plans the work to be carried out within the organisation and evaluates the quality and strategic impact of their implementation in further work; 3. demonstrates understanding and responsibility for the potential impact of their activities on the organisation and economic security in general. | ||||||||
