Objective: | Mastering of main movements of outdoor activities – skiing, participating in and leading safe health promoting outdoor winter activities, which are the basis for strengthening physical health, mastering experience, knowledge and skills. Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | 1. Independently studies various types of information tools in preparation for test work. 2. Practically improves skiing skills and evaluates the possibilities for their application according to the terrain of the environment, variable weather and snow conditions. 3. Performs theoretical and practical work, including research aspects and the use of technologies (video filming) on basic movements of classical steps in skiing. 4. Provides comparative analysis, feedback on the possibility of improving skills. 5. Independently carries out planning, organisation and practical implementation of winter activity with children of different ages. The results of independent learning are taken into account when providing the final assessment of the course. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | 1. Theoretical knowledge: 1.1. Types of movement and their use at all stages of education. 1.2. Injuries, prevention, first aid. 1.3. Organisation of classes, selection and preparation of place. 1.4. Selection, preparation, care for tools. Test work with questions are carried out in written form. Questions are drawn up in the form of a test, as well as a method of unfinished sentences and a descriptive methods, i.e. giving constructive answers to the question, are used. Assessment: The question of each test work is assessed in points: 6 points – answers to all questions are correct; 4 points – answers to 2/3 of questions are correct; 2 points – answers to 1/2 of questions are correct. If a test work is failed, i.e. less than 2 points are obtained, the student answers the topic of the test work orally. 2. Analysis of skills of movements in movement steps (based on a video material). The student analyses his/her performance and indicates the tasks planned for further development of skills. Assessment: The student prepares and submits a description of the video material and prepares the presentation in a group. Assesses the description of the video material and presentation skills – 6 points. Demonstration of movement skills in movement types (performance) – to cover a distance/course and choose types of movement appropriate to his/her level of preparedness according to the terrain: classic steps on flats and slopes, stopping, turns while standing and while moving, overcoming obstacles. Assessment: the assessment includes 5 types of movement (alternating step, double poling, kick double poling, stopping, turning while moving). Each type of movement (task) included in the skiing course is assessed from 0.25 to 1 point: 4. Course covering time 2 points – 10 points (depending on weather conditions and snow cover characteristics in a particular situation). Course length 2 – 2.5 km with 8 tasks (5 tasks are assessed). 1. Theoretical knowledge: 1.1. Skiing movement teaching didactics. 1.2. Organisation of skiing at school. 1.3. Planning of winter activities and didactics. 1.4. Assessment of skiing movement types. Assessment of each test work: 6 points – answers to all questions are correct; 4 points – answers to 2/3 of questions are correct; 2 points – answers to 1/2 of questions are correct If a test work is failed, i.e. less than 2 points are obtained, the student answers the topic of the test work orally. 2. Demonstration of movement skills in movement types (performance): to cover a distance and make an independent decision and solutions combining the most rational types of movement (classic steps, gliding steps, transitions, stopping, turns while moving and while standing, overcoming obstacles) according to the terrain and gliding conditions. Assessment: the assessment includes 7 types of movement (alternating step, kick double poling, V1 skating, diagonal striding, transitions, turn while moving, overcoming obstacles). Each type of movement included in the skiing distance (task) is assessed from 1 to 0.25 points. 3. Course covering time 2 – 10 points (depending on weather conditions and snow cover characteristics in a particular situation). Course length 3 – 4 km with 12 tasks (7 tasks are assessed). 4. Planning, organising and leading a winter outdoor activity event (group work). Contingent: pre-school, primary school, basic school, secondary school and students with special needs. Activity tools – cross-country skiing and winter outdoor activity equipment (sleighs, boards, short skis) and tools (skiing and ski orienteering skills, snow activities (rolling, throwing, shaping), exercises, movement games. Assessment: the assessment consists of: 1. Event poster – 5 points. 2. Description of development of the plan, organisation and tasks – 10 points. 3. Individual contribution according to the division of responsibilities – 5 points. 4. Activities offered and led by the student (each) – 8 points. 5. Mutual self-assessments of group members – 5 points. 6. Opponents’ assessment – 2 points. For each criterion in the section assessed positively – 0.25 points. Knowledge: | 1. Planning, organising and leading cross-country skiing study process and classes. 2. Methods, techniques and aids following an individualised approach according to age, gender and level of development. 3. Skiing classes and activities observing safety regulations and outdoor environmental factors. 4. Preparation of cross-country skiing equipment for sports classes and events based on outdoor environmental conditions and material and technical support. 5. Different teaching methods, forms and technologies in study work and consistency between the objectives of the class, the aids used and learning outcomes. | ||||||||
Skills: | 6. To demonstrate state pre-school education guidelines, the requirements of the state basic education standard and the state secondary education standard in the field of studies concerning the content of skiing. 7. Skiing materials and technical equipment – equipment, clothing, footwear, their choice, preparation and maintenance. 8. To prepare the plan and content of skiing lessons and events, on the structure of skiing movement types, the teaching methodology of movement types. 9. To evaluate the rules and organisation of the safety and measures of the study process. 10. In an individual approach, to choose the content of the class according to the age and learning peculiarities of pupils. 11. To assess the pupil’s achievements and personality growth. | ||||||||
Competencies: | 12. Ability to plan an interdisciplinary and individualised learning process at all stages of education. 13. Ability to critically analyse and evaluate the pedagogical aids, methods, techniques and aids used, their compliance with the abilities of pupils and education goals in diverse health-promoting skiing activities. 14. To take responsibility for classes and safety of events. 15. Ability to provide feedback in the assessment of both the pupil and their activities. 16. Able to creatively choose study aids by integrating health and safety content, other subject areas, transversal skills and values. 17. Able to identify security hazards and risks in different environments and situations in skiing, take preventive safety measures, choosing the most appropriate problem-solving strategies. | ||||||||
