Objective: | To provide theoretical knowledge on issues regarding sexual and reproductive health and family planning, as well as to develop practical skills in solving problems of sexual and reproductive health and family planning. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | Students independently create presentations for a deeper understanding of the theoretical part of the course, according to the topics of the practical lessons. The presentation will include the actuality of the problem, tasks of midwives, existing obstacles and ways of solving them. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | Assessed in the framework of the study course: Independent work – presentations about topics of practical classes, their content’s consistency with the topic, independent work invested by the student, presentation of the work (20%). Assessment of theoretical knowledge – test questions according to lecture topics (20%). Assessment of practical skills – ability of students to provide consultations on sexual and reproductive health issues and recommend a specific, appropriate method of family planning (30%). Final examination – exam – written, open question test (30%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | As a result of completing the study course students gain basic knowledge of concepts, basic principles, legal aspects, problems of sexual and reproductive health, principles of choosing family planning and contraceptive methods, indications, contraindications and usage. | ||||||||
Skills: | Upon successful completion of the course, students will know how to: • provide recommendations regarding sexual and reproductive health issues to individuals of various age and gender; • provide recommendations regarding family planning and contraceptive methods, by helping to make a choice, according to the individual’s needs; • educate members of society about issues regarding sexual and reproductive health, as well as family planning and contraception. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Upon successful completion of the course, student will be able to: • assess the importance of sexual and reproductive health in individual’s life; • objectively assess the compatibility of a particular family planning and contraceptive method to a specific individual; • assess the necessity to promote, preserve and maintain sexual and reproductive health. | ||||||||
