Objective:
Develop an understanding of the quality assurance system, its principles and application in patient care. Get acquainted with the latest knowledge and theories of quality assurance, their application in improving patient care. Facilitate application of theoretical knowledge in practical work.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
- Get acquainted with the readings; - Get acquainted with the lecture materials, prepare questions; - Independently perform tasks in groups; - Prepare a presentation on the topic.
Assessment Criteria:
Independent preparation (70%) and presentation (10%) of the project application, ability to justify their opinion and provide arguments, to answer the questions (10%), as well as lecture and class attendance (10%).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:After completing the study course, students will be able to explain the basic concepts and terminology in quality assurance; they will be able to evaluate the main competences of quality management. They will be aware of the role and tasks of the quality manager and the role of internal quality audit in system improvement.
Skills:Will be able to identify the processes which take place in a company, will be able to define process quality criteria and evaluate the effectiveness of the processes. After completing the study course, students will be able to independently develop a process description, analyse and evaluate the system performance, identify the necessary corrective and preventive actions.
Competencies:After completing the study course, students will be able to independently develop a process description, analyse and evaluate system performance; identify necessary corrective and preventive actions, identify necessary corrective and preventive actions, identify opportunities for improvement.
