Preliminary Knowledge: | Prerequisites: Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, professional communication, developmental psychology, biomedical aspects of human functioning. | ||||||||
Objective: | To develop students' knowledge and skills in the care and education of patients with internal diseases in outpatient practice; to promote the application of knowledge and skills in practical work; to evaluate and analyse patients' social functioning abilities; develop skills in providing psychological support and effective communication with internal patients and their relatives. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | Within the course, create a care plan for a patient with oral diseases, including his social needs. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | A 10-point system is used for evaluating students' knowledge and skills, the criteria described in the RSU Study Regulations are used for evaluation. The final assessment of the course takes place in the form of a written exam, which must reflect the knowledge acquired during the course, which constitutes 50% of the final assessment of the study course. During the course of study, you must activly participate in study process (15% of the final grade) and develop the course work (35% of the final grade). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | As a result of the study course students acquire basic knowledge about the signs and course of internal illness, the specifics of patient care, the meaning and management of care. | ||||||||
Skills: | As a result of the course the students will be able to recognise complaints and course of internal diseases, to identify and formulate care problems for patients with diagnoses of internal diseases, as well as to plan and implement the care process by assessing and analysing patients' social functioning abilities. | ||||||||
Competencies: | As a result of the course acquisition students will be able to understand the subjective and objective symptoms and syndromes of organ system disorders, to identify the main clinical signs and to differentiate them according to their severity, to predict and to plan patient care. Students will be able to professionally collaborate with patients (both individually and in an interdisciplinary team), adhere to medical ethics, and respect the right of patients to take responsibility for independent learning and to act as a health promoter in the context of specific and non-specific prophylaxis and methods. | ||||||||
