Preliminary Knowledge: | Secondary school knowledge of social sciences. | ||||||||
Objective: | To develop students' understanding of the sociological theories, main concepts of social psychology, human socialisation process and the influence of social environment as well as the science of psychology and its relationship to other sciences – human cognitive and emotional sphere and personality. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | • Acquisition of videolecture material and performance of self-examination tests on the topic of the lecture. • Acquisition of literature and preparation for discussions on the topics of the practical classes. • Analysis of an individual's life course, which includes the collection of a history of life (interview) and a description of the socialization process. • Analysis of scientific research on current topics in social psychology related to health care. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | • Active participation in the lessons: the answers to the discussion questions on the topic of the lesson are prepared before the lesson, participation in the discussions; acquisition of video lecture material and performance of self-examination tests after each lecture - 20%. • Practical work No.1 - life course analysis. A life interview and analysis of the socialization process are performed, a presentation is prepared, which is presented in a seminar - 30%. • Practical work No.2 - analysis of one scientific research. A presentation on scientific research in the field of health care is prepared and presented in a seminar - 30%. • Exam - test of theoretical knowledge - 20%. The rating is given on a 10-point scale. | ||||||||

Knowledge: | Recognizes theories of sociology and psychology. Defines the basic concepts and research methods of general and social psychology. Identifies the stages of the socialization process, as well as the basic concepts of personality, cognitive and emotional spheres. | ||||||||
Skills: | High-quality collection of human life history. Describes personality, cognitive and emotional spheres, as well as social environment factors and their impact on the individual. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Analyzes the impact of individual life events on the socialization process and personality development. Understands individual behavior and needs in different social situations. | ||||||||
