Preliminary Knowledge: | Anatomy, physiology and kinesiology. | ||||||||
Objective: | Promote the acquisition of knowledge about the massage effects on human body. Develop practical skills of palpation (the patient's soft tissue status for evaluation purposes) and massage techniques. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | Literature research, strengthening of practical skills according to the lesson plan. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | • active participation during classes; • regular testing of the practical skills, evaluating the method of technical performance, direction, sequence specific parts of the body during the massage; The exam consists of 2 parts: theoretical (in writing: 40% of the final evaluation) and practical (60% of the final evaluation). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Student will be able to describe and explain the physiological effects of massage, usage on functional disorders correction; will be able to explain the different massage techniques indications, contraindications and application characteristics. | ||||||||
Skills: | Students will be able to use palpation to assess the patient's soft tissue status; will be able to choose and use the massage techniques according to patient's functional condition and treatment goals. | ||||||||
Competencies: | On successful acquisition of the study course students will be able to practically apply the acquired knowledge and skills to achieve the goal of massage. | ||||||||
