Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Anatomy, Physics, Materials and Processing, Introduction to the Profession, Physiology, Biology.
Objective:
Provide an introduction to the basic principles of rigid orthotics. Provide a basic understanding of the historic origins of the process and the development of technological application. Introduce to the system of orthotic classification and its historic background. Teach to distinguish types of orthoses by their anatomical features. Provide theoretical information about technological specifics of the production of orthoses, specific components and it functional differences. Provide knowledge about specific illnesses that have been treated or controlled by orthoses.
