Preliminary Knowledge: | Prior knowledge of physical activity is recommended, but knowledge may also be acquired during the learning process if it has not been previously available. | ||||||||
Objective: | To promote the acquisition of knowledge about different types of exercise, their effects on the musculoskeletal system, muscles and cardiovascular system, their role in strengthening the health of people of different ages and genders. | ||||||||

Assessment Criteria: | Final assessment for the free elective study course C - The course is implemented in the spring semester. At the end of the course, the exam, which consists of active participation in practical classes 70%, must prepare reports (power points) physical exercises and physical activities for various health problems 30%. The final mark consists of an Exam with 10 points (7 visits, 3 points to prepare and present physical activities for various health problems. | ||||||||

Knowledge: | As a result of mastering the study course students will know and be able to: • to gain insight into how physical exercise, properly performed as an adjunct, will improve health in various health problems; • name the exercises used to strengthen health and prevent diseases; • to define the concepts of health, healthy lifestyle, sports, health sports; • to describe training load, fatigue symptoms after different loads, causes and exacerbation of overload; • to formulate the causes of obesity and the negative impact on the human body; • to describe the application of physical exercise in the prevention of various diseases; • to understand the importance of methodical exercises in performing a proper exercise; • name and describe different types of fitness-promoting fitness; • to formulate the impact of different types of exercise on human health; • to describe the importance of using stretching exercises in lessons; • list and classify types of health exercises; • define concepts - Pilates, Yoga, Body Art, Fitball, Nordic walking, etc .; • name the main factors on which human health depends; • to describe the training load in each of the offered types of gymnastics; • to explain the use of certain types of exercise in health prevention; • select appropriate types of gymnastics for each client; • to explain the peculiarities of the types of physical activities for seniors; • to interpret the basic principles of health-promoting exercise. | ||||||||
Skills: | After completing this study course, students: • will be able to use strength, balance, muscle stretching, aerobic exercises to strengthen health and prevent disease; • will be able to briefly describe the different types of exercises; • will be able to compile exercises correctly and apply them to certain health problems; • will be able to compile a simple health exercise program and recommend it to people of different ages and genders; • will be able to use large exercise balls, balance surfaces, small exercise balls, sticks, dumbbells, exercise cords; • will learn to control their muscle work, dose the load; • will be able to select and recommend exercises suitable for each client (patient); • will create an understanding of load dosing for various health problems. | ||||||||
Competencies: | As a result of the study course, students will have gained insight into the importance of health exercise in improving the quality of human life through various types of exercise. Understand and learn exercises for respiratory problems, cardiovascular problems, back pain, joint pain problems. Will purposefully learn to strengthen your body and deep muscles, improve your health and posture. | ||||||||
