Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Microbiology, physiology, infectious diseases and epidemiology.
Objective:
Aim of the placement: to give students an opportunity to strengthen theoretical knowledge, to acquire competence appropriate to the study programme, and to acquire practical skills necessary for specialists in the respective field.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Together with the placement supervisor, the student compiles a specific placement schedule in order to complete all placement tasks. During the placement, the student makes entries on a regular basis in the placement report on the completed work.
Assessment Criteria:
During the placement, the student writes a placement report and receives feedback on the work from the placement supervisor, which are submitted to the department by the deadline specified by the department. Successful defence of the placement.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Will be able to explain the monitoring of non-communicable diseases, documentation for statistical records. Will be able to describe the practical aspects of epidemiological surveillance, anti-epidemic and preventive measures for infectious diseases, including HIV infection and sexually transmitted infections. Knowledge of the organisation and management of intersectoral work in disease prevention and health promotion.
Skills:Students will have an understanding of the organisation of work required for research, data collection, analysis, reporting, preparing information for the press on issues affecting health and healthy lifestyles. Are able participate in the technical preparation and conduct of conferences, seminars, courses, etc. organised by the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
Competencies:To participate in the collection, processing and analysis of data, and prepare a summary of a health or health care problem reflected in statistical data. To be able to explain how the procedure established by the regulatory enactments is implemented to request and receive free of charge from state and local government institutions, medical institutions, as well as natural and legal persons the information and documents necessary for the fulfilment of the Centre’s tasks.
