Preliminary Knowledge:
Knowledge of Latvian and world history in the amount of secondary school requirements.
Objective:
Studying the problems of Latvia’s political history linking them to the events and solutions of today’s active politics. Arrangement of chronological material for analysing the process of formation of patterns. Understanding the process of shaping political decisions.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Groupwork, individual presentations. To assess the overall quality of the study course, the student must complete the course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal
Assessment Criteria:
Attendance of lectures – 5%, positive seminar assessment – 10%, assessment of summaries – 15%, report assessment – 20% and examination grade – 50%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:After taking the course, the student will understand the political history of Latvia and the principles of operation of the Latvian political system.
Skills:An analytical critical approach has been mastered by studying and analysing fact-based material. The basis for comparative analysis has been obtained.
Competencies:Ability to understand and use understanding of causes and patterns in the further study process. Ability to link areas of influence of external factors in domestic national political processes. To interpret political activity using hidden information.
