Preliminary Knowledge: | Without preliminary knowledge of the Spanish language. | ||||||||
Objective: | The aim of the course is to acquire Spanish language skills for social interaction in compliance with “Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning, Teaching and Assessment”, language proficiency levels A1/A2. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | The student actively acquires the necessary vocabulary, makes short dialogues on the corresponding topic, actively participates in preparation of homework, timely hands in short descriptions on family, flat, daily activities, leisure time, etc. Makes 1 – 2 presentations during the course. Students are obliged to fill in the course evaluation questionnaire at the end of the course. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | 1. Active participation in practical classes, high quality home assignments completed in a timely manner, quality of answers during the classes. 2. Test at the end of the module, which may include reading, listening, writing and speaking skills and vocabulary use. 3. Cumulative evaluation at the end of the first Semester, taking into consideration the results of tests and the attitude during the semester. 4. Examination at the end of the course, which includes reading, listening, writing and speaking skills and vocabulary use. Regular attendance of the classes is compulsory; individual work and presentation are compulsory (10%); average assessment of tests (70%); an examination grade (20%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Upon successful completion of the course the students will: understand ordinary Spanish vocabulary, language structures and regularities for ordinary texts; be able to find the necessary information; recognize and be able to differentiate between the present, past or future activities; recognize the right order of the words in the narrative sentence and in the interrogative sentence. | ||||||||
Skills: | The students will be able to understand ordinary texts about everyday topics (letters, invitations, classified ads, etc.), ordinary audio texts about everyday topics (dialogues, announcements in the airport or in the train terminal about the traffic, classified ads, weather forecasts, etc.), write short announcements, e-mails, write simple information, and fill in the forms, tell about themselves, their relatives, living conditions, surroundings, respond to the questions, make questions, using the common language structures, retell a text, expressing their opinion, making simple sentences, comprehend and be able to use the grammar structures needed in the daily communication. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to use lexical expressions and language structures they have learned in everyday communication. | ||||||||
