Preliminary Knowledge: | Biological basics of psyche, Personality psychology, Clinical psychology, Psychiatry and psychopharmacology, Developmental psychology, Individual consulting and psychotherapy | ||||||||
Objective: | To develop knowledge about psychosomatic processes and their effects to different human organ systems, to develop skills and competences to evaluate the dates of patient lives and illnesses, and dates from patient disease history, to develop skills and competences to evaluate difficulties to work with patients of psychosomatic disorders. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | Independently read the sources of psychosomatic medicine. In small group look for studies of psychosomatic medicine, read them and make presentation for class. Make work in small groups, talk through patients history of diseases. Show results in big group. Finally, make analysis of patient’s life and illnesses according the scheme, present it. In the end of this course every student makes a assessment of study course. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | 1) Activity in practical classes and lectures, analysis of anamnesis – 30%; 2) An analysis of patient’s life and illnesses according to the scheme, and presentation – 40%; 3) independent work on the time – 30%; | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Students explain the major theoretical concepts of psychosomatic medicine; explain the role of defenses in the process of illness; describe and assess data of anamnesis; recognize and analyse the psychodynamic processes of illnesses of various organ systems. | ||||||||
Skills: | Students collect data of anamnesis; evaluate interaction of social and psychic factors role for different psychosomatic disorders or illness; evaluate potential difficulties/problems at work with psychosomatic patients. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Students analyse patient’s history of diseases from psychosomatic viewpoint; logically formulate and interpret the data, when describe patient's case. | ||||||||
