Preliminary Knowledge: | Successfully passed the course Research paper in dentistry. To be able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the study course, to use scientific material, the latest and most relevant scientific literature on the chosen topic. Prerequisites in Public Health Dentistry. Prerequisites knowledge in epidemiology, knowledge in Information Literacy. | ||||||||
Objective: | Develop a qualification paper within the study course on current topics in the field of oral health, using the latest scientific literature. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | To do independent research while developing a qualification thesis according to the chosen topic. The qualification work is developed in cooperation with the supervisor. The qualification thesis must be developed in accordance with the "Regulations on Writing and Defence of Qualification Paper, Student Research Paper". The volume of work is 30-40 pages. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | In the defense of the qualification paper the following is evaluated: the qualification paper (the paper is written according to the requirements, the content corresponds to the chosen topic, the work volume, compliance with the deadlines, the work is checked for plagiarism, the volume of literature, research and its relevance to the topic, the work is grammatically and literally edited) and the student 's ability to present the qualification paper orally in the presence of the commission in a prepared presentation. The final evaluation consists of the supervisor's evaluation, the reviewer's evaluation and the student's presentation evaluation. | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | 1. Student will know training forms and ethical aspects of scientific projects. 2. Student will know how to define hypothesis of research and how to choose suitable design of research. 3. Student will know different possibilities of obtaining data. 4. Student will know objective evaluation and interpretation of research results. 5. Student will know how to use different indexes, epidemiological examination cards (by WHO) for patients as well as different questionnaires related to oral health and life’s quality research in clinical dentistry environment. The usage of social-dental index. 6. All the above knowledge will give the student the opportunity to write a qualification paper according to the chosen topic. | ||||||||
Skills: | The student will be able to write a qualification paper according to the chosen topic and requirements, using the appropriate scientific literature compiling it. Will be able to do research that will be reflected in the work. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Ability to make a practical compilation of scientific literature, developing a qualification paper. | ||||||||
