Basics of Sports Physiology and Kinesiology (LF_699)
About Study Course
Objective
To promote the acquisition of knowledge and the development of an understanding of the functions of the human body, organs and cells at rest and under conditions of physical activity, and of the analysis of human posture and movement, the forces acting on the human body and how to use them in shaping an exercise programme.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the amount of secondary education in mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry. Knowledge in anatomy.
Learning outcomes
As a result of learning the study course, the student will understand the physiology of human organ systems, the physiology of sleep and its effect on activity, the physiological indicators of the intensity of physical exertion, the functional changes in the body during sports-specific conditions and at various intensity loads. After successful completion of the study course, students will be able to name and describe the contractile and non-contractile structures of the human locomotor support apparatus, which ensure the stability and mobility of both individual body segments and the whole body, and will be able to describe their importance during movement and maintaining a static posture.
As a result of studying the study course, students will be able to practically evaluate the most characteristic physiological indicators of a person, movements in the joints and analyze the action of the involved muscles, they will be able to practically evaluate and analyze specific static and dynamic basic postures, they will be able to apply these evaluation and analysis skills also in the analysis of various physical activities.
Will be able to determine indicators of physical characteristics and compare with literature data, evaluate the degree of training of the athlete's cardiorespiratory system. Will be able to analyze the involvement and operation of various structures of the movement support system during certain physical exercises, justifying their choice to achieve specific goals. Will be able to determine the range of joint movements.
