In line with the RSU Code of Ethics and the Basic Principles of Diversity, Equality, and Inclusivity, the University is dedicated to enhancing staff and students’ understanding of these core principles and reinforcing their importance in daily interactions and decision-making. By fostering a culture of respect and inclusion, RSU contributes to the social dimensions of sustainability, aiming to ensure that all individuals feel valued and empowered.

Here you will find information and resources designed to support ethical awareness and guide inclusive and equitable practices within the university community.

Students

All students receive information on RSU’s ethical standards, including guidance on reporting ethical violations, at the start of their studies. The format varies by study programme, but the information is typically delivered through “Introduction to Studies” courses, dedicated events, or video lectures.

Additionally, some study programmes offer separate ethics courses, tailored to a particular field of study. Many of these courses are also accessible to the wider university community through the RSU Open University

The course consists of three video lectures and quizzes covering:

  • Ethical misconduct in the academic environment
  • Improving psycho-emotional wellbeing at work
  • Sexuality and gender-based violence

RSU School of Junior Academics

This is a four-month training programme for academics with up to 5 years of teaching experience. Its curriculum includes topics on fundamental ethical principles, ethical dilemmas in academic practice, respectful communication, and student wellbeing.

Learn more about the School of Junior Academics on the RSU website. Registration for this year's edition will open in May.

Training on diversity and inclusion at higher education institutions

The RSU Centre for Educational Growth regularly organises seminars on inclusive and accessible education, exploring best practices for supporting students with diverse needs and discussing pathways to a more equitable and resilient university community. These training sessions equip RSU academic staff with the tools and strategies required to implement inclusive teaching practices.

Upcoming training opportunities are shared with all staff members on the Academic Portal. Invitations are also sent via email to academic staff and administrative department heads.
