Director of the Institute of Oncology and Molecular Genetics

Education and knowledge

• Doctoral degree, preferably in a field related to the activity of the Institute
• Internationally recognized research activities with a minimum h-index of 8
• Valid expert status with the Latvian Council of Science
• Outstanding scientific or clinical activity with demonstrable results at Latvian or international level in Oncology or Molecular Genetics
• Knowledge of how to create a productive and inclusive scientific, academic or clinical culture in the unit under management
• Knowledge of an area of the Institute’s activities and related technologies
• Knowledge of public and private funding programmes and knowledge of organising and managing large national or international projects in oncology
• Knowledge of the most important organisations in the field in Latvia and internationally and an understanding of the role of the Institute and opportunities in the network of these organisations
• Experience of providing infrastructure services at organisational or wider level is desirable
• Experience of the operation of international consortia
• Excellent knowledge of Latvian and English at least at B2 level (according to Europass self-assessment grid)
