Objective

To know the elements of social services, the process of creating new social services and the monitoring system of existing social services.

Prerequisites

The elements of the Latvian social security system, their legislative base. Social services of local governments, their clients. Social work organisation in municipalities.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Understand the process and components of creating social services and social programs, analyze the existing social services, determine the main activities and performance indicators of social services.

Skills

Carry out an assessment of the needs of the target group, develop a description of social services, monitoring of social services.

Competence

Ability to use the acquired skills and knowledge in the development, administration and analysis of social programs and social services.
