Lower Limb Prosthetics (REK_256)
About Study Course
Objective
To learn basic skills in the application of lower limb prosthetic principles. To summarise the theoretical knowledge of lower limb prosthetics, prosthesis classification, construction, application. To acquire practical skills in lower limb prosthetics: work with the patient, examination, assessment, measurement. To learn about the technologies used in prosthetics: modelling of moulds and moulding, prosthesis construction, static and dynamic adjustment, training in the use of prostheses.
Prerequisites
Prior knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics (with in-depth gait analysis) is required.
Learning outcomes
As a result of successful completion of the study course, students will be able to apply basic knowledge in prosthetics of the lower limbs according to various production technologies.
To differentiate between different types of lower limb prostheses, manufacturing technologies thereof. To evaluate patients and choose the appropriate type of prosthetics and the application of technologies, explain the peculiarities of gait when using lower limb prostheses.
As a result of successful completion of the study course, students will be able to independently use the acquired knowledge in the use of various types and technologies of lower limb prosthetics, gait training.
