Description
Activities of the project
- Create an inter-disciplinary group of Latvian and Norwegian scientists in order to research hull-less barley and cereal and their processing products
- Select and assess varieties of triticale and hull-less barley and cereals grown in different cultivation systems and climatic conditions
- Research the impact of sprouting on the chemical composition of triticale and hull-less barley and cereals grown in Latvia/Norway
- Assess the quality of grain, sprouts and their products
- Conduct clinical research to determine glycaemic index (GI) for triticale and hull-less barley and cereals, which have been grown in Latvia/Norway
Riga Stradiņš University implements the 4th job batch of the project: assessment of the glycaemic index in cereal products
The 4th job batch is implemented by the Department of Sports and Nutrition and the following RSU employees are involved in its implementation: leading researcher Dr. med. Laila Meija, researcher Dr. med. Līga Balode and laboratory assistant Dr. Guna Havensone
