New ceramics exhibition at RSU Anatomy Museum by students from the Art Academy of Latvia
On Thursday, 12 December, at 18.00, the exhibition Kas paliek pēc? ('What remains?’) will open at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Anatomy Museum, 9 Kronvalda bulvāris, Riga. The exhibition will be open until 11 January 2025.
The creators of the exhibition share their thoughts on the traces that humans leave on both the material and immaterial world: ‘At the centre of the exhibition there is a reflection on the things that last – those that persist in time and space, leaving traces in both the material and immaterial world.
The works, made in paper porcelain, highlight the material's fragile lightness and strength, creating a subtle parallel to the multilayered nature of the human body and anatomy.
The Anatomy Museum becomes a symbolic space for the idea of the exhibition, where art and science merge, emphasising the dialogue between existence and materials. The exhibition invites us to ask: what traces do we leave, and what remains after we are gone?’
The RSU Anatomy Museum has traditionally implemented cooperation projects with representatives of various fields of art, including with students from the Art Academy of Latvia. This collaboration is a unique opportunity to create a dialogue between art and science, creating a diverse experience for both artists and visitors.
