Development and study of pseudobionic feedback and technical diagnostic systems for prosthetic and rehabilitation equipment
Aim
Description
Rīga Stradiņš University and Riga Technical University carry out a scientific cooperation project during the period from February 2016 to February 2019 aimed at establishing inter-university research teams, conducting interdisciplinary and competitive studies
Activities of the project
- Actuator development (RTU)
- Sensor network development (RTU)
- Control node development (RTU)
- Study of users’ reaction (RSU)
- Study of diagnostic opportunities (RTU/RSU)
- Analysis of pseudobionic feedback (RTU/RSU)
- Optimisation and adaptation of actuators and sensors (RTU/RSU)
- Preparation of project continuation
Partner RTU
Terms of reference: solving electrical and computer management tasks, which may include vibration, contact pressure and range of audible sounds, development of ultrasound actuators, their drivers and local control nodes, optimisation and adaptation of the construction for optimal use conditions of prosthetic pseudobionic feedback; development and technical optimisation of vibration, contact pressure and ultrasound sensors and their networks; development of response time and grade data collection and analysis software
Partner RSU
Terms of reference: use of technical equipment developed in the field of prosthetics, including tests for prosthesis users, collection and analysis of statistical data on pseudo-bionic response, establishing optimal use conditions and parameters for prosthesis pseudo-bionic response which ultimately results in the development of recommendations aimed at improving hardware
