Objective

To introduce students to different sports games, including knowledge of the rules, basic techniques and the role of sports games in improving health and fitness.

Prerequisites

Skills in sports games at the Secondary school programme level.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students: know the rules of the sports games; name and describe the basic elements of the techniques of the sports games; explain the role of the sports games in improving health; demonstrate basic exercises for learning the technical elements of the sports games taught.

Skills

Students: select different exercises to learn the basic techniques of the sports games taught; understand and apply sports games in their daily activities to improve physical fitness and health; select appropriate elements of technique in game situations; explain the rules of the sports games learnt in game situations.

Competence

Using the acquired knowledge and skills, students will be able to apply sports games to strengthen health, improve physical abilities, use appropriate elements of technique and rules in game situations.
