Histology and Functional Embryology (MK_006)
About Study Course
Objective
To develop an understanding about general and functional human histology and anatomy; macroscopic and microscopic structure of the cells, tissues and organs, especially digestion providing structures; a view about onthogenetical changes in above mentioned structures; morphofunctional changes of digestion providing organs; concept about critical periods and factors that are on basis of morphofunctional disorders of embryonal life of structures.
Prerequisites
Cytology, that is suggested to be acquired simultaneously with biochemistry, anatomy and physiology.
Learning outcomes
To determine and describe major tissue groups and their structural characteristics, as well as organ structure. To detail digestive system organ complex and its morphological functionality. To determine developmental stages and aging processes.
To identify and analyze light microscopy tissue slides prepared by routine histology methods. To detect major tissue types and organ structures in light microscopy. To evaluate slide quality. Literature search performance.
Tissue types and organ structural basic principles, descriptions of them, analysis and explanation.
