Objective

To encourage students to acquire the necessary knowledge about the exercises to be used in fitness classes and different types of fitness classes.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for physical activity are recommended, but may also be acquired during the learning process.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of studying the study course, students:
• will be familiar with various types of health-promoting fitness classes;
• will define concepts used in fitness;
• will describe the possible types of fitness classes;
• will know the peculiarities of exercise classes for seniors and pregnant women.

Skills

As a result of studying the study course, students:
• will be able to apply strength, balance, mobility, stability, aerobic and endurance exercises with and without equipment;
• will know how to use exercise machines for individual training;
• will be able to vary the physical load in different types of fitness classes;
• will be able to objectively evaluate a fitness class and information about fitness.

Competence

Using the acquired knowledge and skills, students will be able to evaluate the application of different types of fitness. Also, students will be able to integrate the acquired knowledge and skills into their training plan to improve physical fitness and to promote health.
