About Study Course
Objective
Create an opportunity for students to apply the acquired knowledge of the therapeutic relationship-building principles in work with the client/ patient groups, develop the skills to carry out structured interviews with patients, evaluate clients/ patients by group selection criteria, identify potential difficulties/ problems in dealing with selected group, be prepared to eliminate these problems, create and implement an art therapy treatment plan for the client/ patient group in a clinical environment.
Prerequisites
All compulsory courses, required mandatory electives, mandatory optional courses in the specialization studied in the study program.
Learning outcomes
Students know the most important theoretical concepts of group counselling and art therapy usage in groups.
Students are able to apply acquired knowledge, to create a therapeutic/ consultative relationship with the client/ patient and realize counselling and therapeutic process in a group. Students are able to evaluate: client's/ patient's personality functioning level, the main impact on the psyche to the group process, the client's/ patient's problems, difficulties, situations, abilities and resources, cultural and environmental factors and their impact on the group process. Is able to determine the possible therapy goal for group of pacients/clients, to develop an art therapy plan for a group and to implement it.
Identify possible cooperation objective, create potential plan of art therapy for a group. Students can choose and use an appropriate way of communication and techniques in clinical environment in work with different patients/ clients, according to their age and other criteria.
