About Study Course
Objective
Develop evidence-based, systematic and analytical thinking in identifying and addressing social problems. Compile, systematise and analyse the information obtained from study of scientific literature. Carry out research on the chosen topic, identifying problems based on the hypothesis/research questions, drawing reasoned conclusions and drawing up constructive proposals.
Prerequisites
Successfully completed study courses.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the study course, the student will be able to: describe the researchers’ contribution to the subject-matter studied; describe the topicality of the chosen topic; define approaches to tackling social problems; apply critical thinking to reflect on the research topic; relate the considered social policy in general terms to the implemented social policy.
Upon completion of the study course, the student will be able to: independently develop and prepare research design; identify current problem situations within the society, describing and explaining them based on evidence and facts, linking them to current political developments; use evidence-based information; raise, analyse and evaluate alternative solutions, draw conclusions and take decisions; evaluate ethical aspects of research.
Independently plan and draw up research in accordance with the basic principles of research; formulate an opinion and position on the subject-matter researched, draw conclusions and make proposals. Will be able to generalise the data obtained in the research to design the necessary action to address the social problem at political level.
