Objective

To improve the undergraduate students' understanding of research and the ability in drawing up their own research project, including a detailed justification and implementation process, planned procedures for data acquisition and processing; to assess the potential risks and threats of the planned research; to describe ethical aspects of the research.

Prerequisites

All courses acquired in the study programme.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Understands, compares and critically evaluates different theoretical approaches and research results related to the research topic; names and characterizes methods of data acquisition, processing and analysis, identifies the practical application of research results, understands requirements for the development of Bachelor's Thesis and evaluation criteria.

Skills

Formulates the aim of the research and sets the research tasks and question(-s)/hypothesis(-es) according to the topic; selects and critically evaluates literature sources; substantiates the topicality and problem of the research. Students are able to plan and carry out research, including the selection of samples and instrumentation appropriate to the purpose of the study, and the development of a protocol and appropriate data processing and analysis methods. Able to describe and interpret the research results, identify the limitations and strengths of the research, and draw appropriate conclusions.

Competence

Independently plans and develops research according to the basic principles of research and ethics; synthesizes its content based on the selected literature and obtained results; independently organizes work and makes decisions; discusses the obtained research results and conclusions using argumentation.
