About Study Course
Objective
Learning of the methodology of teaching the foundations of basketball by promoting raising the level of knowledge and skills of students for teaching athletic disciplines in general education schools in the content of sports classes, in the amount specified in the education standard.
Prerequisites
The level of knowledge and skills should correspond to the general secondary education standard in sports.
Learning outcomes
1. Knows the classification of basketball technique and tactical methods.
2. Knows the methodology for teaching basketball techniques and tactics – teaching methods, study aids, forms of organisation of sports classes.
3. Knows basketball game rules and referee signals.
4. Knows the formative, summative assessment type, as well as self-assessment approach in learning basketball technique exercises and their performance.
5. Able to demonstrate basketball technique teaching and improvement exercises.
6. Able to plan class notes for using basketball exercises, teaching and improvement of technique methods.
7. Knows how to use basketball game rules within a practical game.
8. Able to practically use basketball technique methods.
9. Can realise theoretical knowledge in practice, choosing independently appropriate exercises for teaching and improvement, determining the performance dosage and appropriate methodology.
10. To implement the form and content of sports classes in accordance with the basic safety principles.
11. Able to establish clear performance and growth assessment criteria and testing methods for students.
