Objective

To create an understanding of pathopsychology as a subfield of psychology, its specific subjects, used concepts and specifications. To create an understanding of changes in psychological processes in cases of patalogical changes.

Prerequisites

Psychology of Personality, Psychology of Developement.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Able to classify mental developmental diseases, their symptoms, manifestations and characterize their formation process in the context of the biopsychosocial model. Able to describe research methods for the evaluation of mental developmental disorders. Able to evaluate ethical aspects of working with people with mental disabilities.

Skills

Able to apply knowledge to formulate the pathopsychology of cognitive, affective and behavioral processes of an individual. Able to formulate the boundaries of a psychologist's professional work in a multidisciplinary team.

Competence

Able to use the acquired knowledge to choose research and counseling methods according to the specifics of the disorder. Able to independently describe and determine the limits of a psychologist's competence in working with individuals with mental disorders.
