Objective

To provide knowledge of:
a) Mental health criteria and their part in somatic disorders and in prophylaxis of disease;
b) Main personality theories; personality functioning levels and structure of personality;
c) Aetiology, diagnostic criteria and clinical presentation of eating and feeding disorders, relation to personality and emotional factors;
d) Different types of psychotherapy, indications, contraindications;
e) Therapeutic factors in nutritionist-patient relationship.

Not required.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

To analyse emotional etiopathogenic factors in eating disorders, describe indications for psychotherapy for patients with eating disorders.

Skills

To be able to recognize indications for psychotherapy for patients with eating disorders and ability to form therapeutic nutritionist-patient relationship.

Competence

To understand and analyse the need for psychotherapy for patients with eating disorders, understand diagnostic criteria and need for combined therapy.
