Objective

To provide students with basic knowledge of the essence and development of commercial law, methodology of application and interpretation of the provisions of commercial law.

Prerequisites

Introduction to Civil Law, Legal Theory, History of Latvian Law, Logic, Administrative Law.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students demonstrate knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of commercial law, orientate themselves in commercial law and related laws and regulations.

Skills

1.Students are able to draw up documents independently related to founding, reorganisation, winding up of commercial companies and conclusion of commercial transactions, using the theoretical basics acquired.

Competence

1.Students are able to draw up commercial law contracts, prepare documents in the field of commercial law, orientate themselves in the commercial register, are able to read and interpret information about economic operators available in the registers.
