Objective

To provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge about the prevention and combating of conflict of interest in the activities of public officials, as well as to create an opportunity to develop and improve skills and abilities, to practically use the acquired knowledge and the legal norms governing the prevention and combating of conflict of interest in the activities of public officials. Tasks: Provide an opportunity to: 1) reveal the nature and place of the study course "Conflicts of Interest of State Officials" in the system of other public study courses; 2) to understand the place and role of institutions implementing the prevention and combating of conflicts of interest of state officials in the entire system of law enforcement institutions; 3) learn the terminological aspects of the conflict of interests of public officials; 4) to acquire knowledge about the practical and theoretical aspects of preventing the conflict of interests of public officials; 5) to acquire knowledge about the practical and theoretical aspects of combating the conflict of interest of public officials.

Prerequisites

Learning the basic course of legal theory.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

The study course will allow you to gain knowledge about the prevention and combating of conflict of interest in the activities of public officials, as well as about criminal law and partly also the doctrine of criminal procedure law, legal regulation and jurisprudence in connection with a criminal offense in the service of state institutions. Students will gain knowledge about their responsibilities to prevent themselves from being in a conflict of interest situation, as well as information channels and procedures related to conflicts of interest of other officials.

Skills

By studying the study course, students will acquire general skills and skills to qualify violations of law in the service of state institutions, in connection with the conflict of interest situation. Also, general skills and abilities related to the investigation of the mentioned categories of offenses will be acquired. Knowledge about the actions of public officials will be gained by identifying the conflict of interests of public officials.

Competence

Completion of the study course will allow the student to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities to navigate in the service of the state institutions of criminal offenses, in relation to the conflict of interest situation, in the specifics of prevention and combating.
