Objective

Provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge on preventing and combating conflicts of interest in the work of public officials and to give the possibility to develop and improve skills and competences in practical application of the acquired knowledge and the laws regulating the prevention and combating of conflicts of interest in the work of public officials.

Tasks:
To give the possibility:
1) to discover the substance of the study course “Conflicts of interest of public officials” and its position among other public study courses; 2) understand the place of institutions in charge of prevention and combating of conflicts of interest of public officials and their role within the entire law enforcement system; 3) acquire the terminology aspects of the conflict of interests of public officials.

Prerequisites

Acquisition of the introductory course to legal theory.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Acquisition of knowledge on the prevention and combating of conflict of interests in public sector, about criminal law and partially also about criminal procedure legal doctrine, legal regulation and case law on criminal offences in public service.

Skills

Students acquire general knowledge and skills on how to qualify legal offences in public service related to conflicts of interest. Acquisition of general knowledge and skills that are related to the investigation of the offences falling-under the mentioned categories.

Competence

Acquisition of the study course will provide the student with knowledge, skills and competences on the legal offences in public service that are related to conflicts of interests, know the specifics of prevention and elimination of conflicts of interest.
