Objective

To develop an understanding of the provision of medical assistance (hereinafter referred to as EMC), provision of EMC in emergency medical situations and civil defence. To develop an understanding of possible disasters and their types, measures in case of disaster situations and medical assistance, to define the effect of extreme factors of the external environment on pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical manifestations.

Prerequisites

In anatomy and functional physiology, internal and surgical diseases, traumatology, pharmacology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to describe how EMC is provided in emergency medical situations and toxicology. Will describe action in case of possible disasters.

Skills

As a result of completing the study course, the student will be able to assess the situation and apply the principles of EMC therapy in case of various acute situations at the scene, during transportation and in the hospital.

Competence

Students understand and evaluate the unity of EMC and disaster medicine systems in the health care system; participate in the implementation of EMC measures in emergency and disaster situations, provide psychosocial support to disaster victims.
