Objective

To ensure the acquisition of effective action in various situations critical to the patient's (victim's) health and life, both in clinical practice, using the equipment available in medical institutions, and outside the clinic, at the scene until the arrival of a doctor or EMT team.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites are required in the subjects acquired in the previous study years – human anatomy, physiology, pathological physiology, propaedeutics of internal diseases, clinical pharmacology, clinical care, internal diseases and general surgery.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of mastering the study course, students will be able to describe the theoretical substantiation of the acquired emergency medical care methods and algorithms.

Skills

The student will be able to perform the basic algorithm of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and elements of the advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation algorithm (defibrillation method, automatic external defibrillation, manual and simple, instrumental methods of airway patency, artificial lung ventilation with anesthesia), manual ventilator) pulmonology, neurology, pediatrics, endocrinology, and pregnant and postpartum women. Take action in case of allergies and anaphylactic shock. Orient in the procedures applicable in the EMS stage.

Competence

The student will be competent to provide emergency medical care, rationally and effectively using the acquired methods and manipulations, as well as available human and equipment resources.
