Objective

The objective of the study course is to provide insight into environmental health and occupational health.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, physics, microbiology, anatomy and physiology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of completing the study course, students will have the following knowledge:
• basic knowledge of the importance of environmental health and occupational health, principles and applying them in practice,
• how to analyse and recognise the main environmental health and work environment problems,
• how to control and reduce the risk of developing diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Skills

As a result of completing the study course, students will be able:
• to recognize chemical, biological, ergonomic, psycho-emotional, traumatic and other risk factors at the dentist's workplace,
• to assess the risks of occupational diseases and take preventive measures,

Competence

After completing the course, students will gain the competence to apply the acquired knowledge on environmental and occupational health while working as a dentist.
