About Study Course
Objective
Gain insight into the application of ergonomic principles in the arrangement of a dental hygienist's workplace.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will acquire basic knowledge:
- on the causes and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and
- how to properly arrange and organize the workplace of a dental hygienist
As a result of the study course, students will gain the skills:
- to hold and operate the tools in the right manner,
- adjust the light and the hygienist's chair, as well as
- choose the right working position.
After completing the course, students will gain the competence:
- to apply the acquired knowledge in ergonomics at the workplace of a dental hygienist,
- control and minimise the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, and
- consider the principles of ergonomics in the design of the workplace.
