Objective

To learn about the position of police in foreign state administration mechanisms.

Tasks: to inform students about foreign police structures and services, legal framework for operations, work organization, service, police work efficiency assessment.

Prerequisites

Required preliminary knowledge: acquisition of the study courses and study subjects: “Police Law” (service, disciplinary practice, problem issues), first foreign language (English)”.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

The student has knowledge on foreign police forces, has a good understanding of the organizational principles of foreign police work, understands the principles of the legal framework regulating the work of foreign police, the student will be given an insight in the possibilities, requirements and areas of cooperation with foreign police departments, the student has general understanding of the history of development of police service.

Skills

Competence on foreign police philosophy models; practical skills on communication methods and police cooperation channels, ability to practically synthesize and apply the tactics of police forces of different countries in risk situations.

Competence

Students are able to distinguish among the badges and ranks of police officers of the neighbouring countries, can cooperate with foreign police officials, are able to assume professional liability and to adopt decisions for conducting and planning complicated cross-border operations.
