About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the study course is to promote the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of hospital pharmacy and the role of the hospital pharmacist in health care.
Prerequisites
Practical pharmacy, Pharmacy dosage form technology, Industrial dosage form technology, Pharmaceutical terminology in English, Basics of statistics.
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the requirements of the study course, students will have acquired knowledge that will allow:
1. recognize the scope and tasks of a hospital pharmacist;
2. define and understand the basic principles of evidence-based drug selection;
3. understand the role of the hospital pharmacist in promoting patient safety;
4. understand and define the principles of public procurement;
5. create high-quality and traceable records necessary for the performance of one's work;
6. formulate and describe the role and tasks of hospital pharmacy in the healthcare system.
As a result of learning the study course, students will be able to:
1. Identify the areas of activity of the hospital pharmacist.
2. To evaluate and explain the role of the hospital pharmacist in the development of the patient safety (safe drug use) system.
3. To participate in the planning, organization and monitoring of the rational use of funds allocated for the purchase of medicines.
As a result of successful completion of the study course, students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in the work of a hospital pharmacist.
