About Study Course
Objective
To provide theoretical and practical knowledge about developmental mechanisms and etiology of infectious diseases in human body in correlation with clinical symptoms, including aspects of disability, therapeutic methods, particular and available for treatment, also self-protection possibilities from infectious diseases and their impact on quality of life of each individual.
Prerequisites
Biology, anatomy, histology, physiology, pathologic physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, propedeutics, parasitology, pharmacology, internal diseases.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to systematize infectious diseases, to classify prevailing symptoms and developmental mechanisms of infectious diseases, indications and contraindications for use in physiotherapy, to collect anamnesis and explain data obtained from laboratory tests and physical examination.
Students will be able to develop action plan for medical activities, which are necessary for diagnostics, clinical course and determination of treatment and prophylaxis of infectious diseases; to apply procedures, set by physician for infectious diseases patients.
Professional communication with patients, their relatives and medical professionals as regards in improvement of quality of life, while respecting patients’ rights and norms of medical ethics; ability to study independently and use e-health medical resources for communication with other students and colleagues.
