Objective

The aim of the course is to give knowledge to students towards the global business economic environment and the business world key issues faced by today’s decision makers.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of economics.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful completion of the course, student will know current issues in the global economy, how global economic forces act on an individual country, the globalisation drivers and the global business international trading and financial environment, why do businesses go multinational, the main trends in international capital flows and in multinational investment dynamics, international trade patterns.

Skills

Students will get the following skills:
• to analyse the major trends in development of the world economy;
• to assess the position of the global business in the world economy;
• to reveal the issues relevant to the global business in the changing world economy;
• to apply international economic theory relative to real global business issues;
• to determine the conditions of successful entry into new international markets.

Competence

Students will be able to reveal the main challenges in the global economy: in trade, finance and technology development, to analyse the global business behaviour in the changing international environment, to explore the perspectives of global business in terms of the growing international competition, to evaluate the gains from international trade, to specify the factors of increasing competitiveness of global business in the world economy. Students will be competent in the major issues of global business in the international environment.
