About Study Course
Objective
To acquire basics of Latvian in order to be able to communicate at basic level A1 (according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the English language at level B1. Without preliminary knowledge of the Latvian.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will: • know the lexical minimum of conversational topics; • know the basic language rules; • know the principles of question formation, including question words.
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to: • give information about oneself, family, studies, daily routine orally and in writing; • ask simple questions and to answer them.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to use Latvian at basic conversational level in daily communication.
