About Study Course
Objective
To provide knowledge about Latvian law enforcement institutions, their competence, subordination, supervision, their mutual and international cooperation. Tasks: 1. promote students' understanding of Latvian law enforcement institutions, their functions and cooperation; 2. promote students' understanding of the laws and regulations governing the operation of these institutions; 3. promote students' understanding of the structure, operating principles, competence and authority of officials of individual institutions.

Learning outcomes
The student will learn the system of Latvian law enforcement institutions, regulatory acts, learn the structure of individual Latvian law enforcement institutions, get to know the operating principles and competences, powers of officials of individual Latvian law enforcement institutions. Will be oriented in the process of inter-institutional cooperation in the context of law enforcement institutions.
After completing the course, the student will independently navigate the system of Latvian law enforcement institutions, the regulatory acts that regulate the operation of Latvian law enforcement institutions, the structure, operating principles and competence of individual Latvian law enforcement institutions.
