Objective

Get an idea about materials used in technical orthopedics, materials usage opportunities, their characteristics, different material advantages and disadvantages, develop understanding about materials combination possibilities.

Prerequisites

Introduction to specialty.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Basic knowledge about types of materials used in technical orthopedics, as a result student will be able to describe and divide materials in groups by their charasteristics. Understanding about different materials usage and their combinations.

Skills

Students will be able to determine different materials used in technical orthopedics, to find description for given material using manufacturer's catalogs, as well as be able to explain given material usage possibilities in technical orthopedics.

Competence

Knows the division of materials into categories and subcategories.
Knows the types of use of materials - for production purposes or for the creation of the final product.
Knows the types of consumables and their properties.
