Objective

To provide students with knowledge of logical thinking, its social contexts, key elements and applications in research; to deepen students’ understanding of the basics of logic, forms of thinking and argumentation, emphasizing practical application.

Prerequisites

General Psychology, Basics of Philosophy.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students acquire knowledge about the subject of logic, certain semantic categories (terminology, statements, operators), deductive and inductive conclusions, the structure of the argumentation process, and the diversity of the laws of logic.

Skills

Ability to solve logical tasks with terms and statements; to apply the basic rules of logic when analysing texts; to quickly find arguments for the thesis to be substantiated.

Competence

Is able to understand the laws of logic, independently argue one’s opinion, able to apply logic in one’s professional activity.
