About Study Course
Objective
To promote the acquisition of knowledge about the types of pain, mechanisms of occurrence and their pharmacotherapy options.
Prerequisites
In biology, physiology and anatomy, biochemistry, clinical disciplines, pharmacology, psychology.
Learning outcomes
Students will have acquired knowledge that allows:
• understand the main mechanisms of pain;
• understand the types and causes of pain and their biological significance;
• know ways to assess pain
The student will be able to:
• interview and assessment of pain patients;
• choose the most appropriate type of therapy;
• plan patient care at different stages.
The student will be able to:
• to advise healthcare professionals and patients on issues related to pain therapy;
• in cooperation with medical practitioners, prescribe appropriate analgesic pharmacotherapy for an individual patient;
• to monitor the pharmacotherapy of chronic pain;
• Implement health promotion, prevention and early detection.
