Objective

To ensure the studies in human pathology and pathophysiology covering morphological and functional aspects of general pathological processes and pathogenesis of different diseases. Thus the course of pathology serves as the basis for further clinical studies, including the different aspects of internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and other clinical specialties.

Prerequisites

Cellular biology, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful completion of the course students will have obtained the knowledge in the above mentioned fields covering general and special pathology and pathophysiology.

Skills

On successful completion of the course students will have gained the ability to describe and analyse pathogenesis of general pathological processes and certain diseases.

Competence

The competences on the pathogenesis of different diseases will allow to interpret clinical situations in regard to the underlying morphological and functional events, to predict the outcomes and complications. The theoretical understanding of the disease will become the basis for developing evidence-based clinical competences.
