Objective

The objective of the study course is to provide an opportunity to learn the theoretical foundations of pharmaceutical dosage form preparation and the practical skills required for the preparation of different dosage forms in a pharmacy.

Prerequisites

Inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical pharmacy, mathematics, plant and animal biology, pharmacognosy, microbiology, pharmaceutical chemistry.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of successfully completing the study course, the student:
1. Will have the knowledge of the theoretical basis of the preparation of pharmaceutical dosage forms.
2. Will be able to answer questions about the preparation of dosage forms in a pharmacy.
3. Will be able to explain and justify the order of addition of ingredients to each dosage form.

Skills

As a result of completing the study course, the student will be able:
1. To apply the methods of dosage form technology to the preparation of medicinal products in a pharmacy setting;
2. To prepare a variety of dosage forms with sufficient speed and quality;
3. To assess the quality of prepared dosage forms and explain their use.

Competence

As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to prepare medicinal products according to individual formulae in the pharmacy.
