About Study Course
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course the students will:
• Describe pharmaceutical markets, elements and interaction between stakeholders;
• Define pharmaceutical regulation systems, their functions and objectives;
• Describe the elements and governance of pharmaceutical systems;
• Describe the goals and principles of pharmaceutical reimbursement systems;
• Describe the cost containment measures and the role of economic evaluation.
The students learn how to:
• Analyse the performance of pharmaceutical market and the role of different stakeholders;
• Describe and compare the pharmaceutical system performance indicators;
• Explain the goals of pharmaceutical policy and the objectives of government regulation.
Students will be able to:
• Perform comparative analysis of pharmaceutical markets and systems;
• Link different policy recommendations to specific system outcomes;
• Recognize the importance of cost-containment measures in the regulation of pharmaceuticals to support health system objectives.
